In Loving Memory of Carl Joseph DeAngelo

On Tuesday, September 20th, 2002 Carl passed from this world to his Heavenly home. He will be missed terribly by family and friends. The Obituary

Carl Joseph DeAngeloCarl Joseph DeAngelo age 78, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Carlisle, PA. He was born March 19, 1944 in Pittston, PA. son of Paul and Josephine DeAngelo (Mersola).

Carl graduated from West Pittston High School where he played football, basketball and track. He worked for the Quaker Oats Company as a Machine Operator for 35 years and he also helped his father-in-law at M+Z Carpets and Flooring company after his retirement. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time at his cabin in the mountains.

He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, always looking for ways to help and provide for them. He was active in his community here in Carlisle and volunteered his time with the Sertoma Club where he was awarded as the 2019 as “sertoman of the year” in recognition of his outstanding service to the club and community.

Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Joseph DeAngelo II (Emily), Timothy DeAngelo (Emily), his daughter Joy Bowman(John) and his life partner Judy Miller. He is also survived by his brothers Anthony DeAngelo and James DeAngelo, sisters Frances Greeley, and Paula Cagigas (Keith), 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Sally Macdonald DeAngelo, his son Anthony DeAngelo, sisters Rosaria (Rosebud) DeAngelo and Margaret Manganiello and his brother-in-law Jerry Manganiello.


A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service in honor of Carl beginning at 1:00 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd Carlisle, PA 17013. Committal and burial services will be held immediately following at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle, PA.
