THECALL TO HEALING
Saturday, September 3rd will be a day that thousands (perhaps even millions) will be able to mark a day of incredible healing and restoration. Thousands gathered in Sacramento, at the Capitol, to pray for their state, their communities, their families, and for personal revolutions. Powerful testimonies, particularly from young people, revealed the depth of pain and joy of deliverance of those caught up in drugs, gangs, eating disorders, sexual brokenness, and seemingly unending cycles of violence. I was invited to speak and share my perspective on abortion and adoption, and in some small way, commemorate the 10th anniversary of me sharing my life story, a rather unique perspective, at the first TheCall event. 10 years ago, I had no idea the reverberations that would be caused by being involved in that historic gathering at the Capitol Mall.
The theme of the 12-hour day centered on Jesus being the only Hope. Lou Engle, the Founder of TheCall is a man of grace and humility. His passion and vision has gathered millions over the years to simply fast and pray for our great nation. Repentance, racial reconciliation, fatherhood, reliance upon God, forgiveness and proactive involvement in our communities have been themes of TheCall since its inception in 2000. Charisma magazine features this decade-old movement in its latest edition.
TheCall shows that the millennial generation isn’t simply swept up in narcissism, but cares deeply about the world around them and reaching out to those who are hurting.
Having read this I thought it was very enlightening.
I appreciate you spending some time and effort to put this article together.
I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of time both reading and posting comments.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
