The Radiance Foundation and New Life Providence Church are excited to welcome Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King and co-founder of King For America, to Virginia Beach, VA for a powerful non-partisan event entitled, JUSTICE FOR ALL. Both her uncle and her father, civil rights champion A.D. King, risked their lives to fight for the rights of black Americans and to see justice unleashed. The course of history changed because of the power of spoken truth and nonviolence resistance.
Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. He lit the fire and had a dream. Today, his niece carries the flame.
Dr. Alveda King embodies the King legacy as she takes on the justice issues of our day, especially the most foundational issue–the right to life.
Monday, November 5th at 7pm, Dr. King will be our featured speaker at the JUSTICE FOR ALL event along with community leaders/experts who will address the issues of abortion, adoption, poverty, fatherlessness, family and faith.

We have a national crisis of epic proportions. Abortion and poverty have taken the place of fathers. 84% of women who have abortions are unmarried. 41% of all children born in the US are born to into homes without fathers; that’s 35.7% of white children and 72.3% of black children. Children who grow up in single parent (female-led) homes are 5 times more likely to grow up in poverty and 8-10 times more likely to be neglected or physically and sexually abused (by live-in boyfriends).
We know that many single parents do the best they can to raise and love their children. However, women, as amazing as they are, were never meant to play both the role of mother and father. And avoidably, our children suffer the deterioration of two-parent married homes. Mothers and fathers provide the most stable environment for children, emotionally, spiritually, educationally and materially.
Mainstream media paints a single narrative, that social issues are separate and can be approached without any singular truth. Moral ambiguity is their foundation. The problems our nation face don’t need useless feel-good theories; they need time-tested solutions rooted in Truth. Dr. King tackles many social issues with her King for America organization. She is passionate about Biblically-based principles and the freedom we find in embracing God’s design for Life.
